The Father Effect Ministries was started in 2010 after founder John Finch began to understand the father wound he had carried with him for over 30 years, and found healing for himself and forgiveness for his father.  This healing radically changed his life and legacy as a man, husband, and father, and he became passionate about helping others who bore the same burden he carried for his entire adult life.

When John and his wife, Michelle, started the non-profit they had no idea just how vast and wide-spread the epidemic of fatherlessness and absent fathers was.  They discovered an incredible need for men and women living with the impact of a father wound to hear words of encouragement and practical advice about healing and forgiveness. Because of their desire to get the message out to as many people as possible, they worked to film and produce The Father Effect short and full-length film.  Following the release of the films, what simply started as one man's desire to share his story soon evolved into a movement with both a film and book used to bring awareness and change to those who needed it so desperately.

The Father Effect Ministries is an outreach of The Perfect Father Ministries, Inc., a registered 501(c)3 non-profit.

The Father Effect is a term first coined by John Finch back in 2010 as he searched

to find a phrase that would identify and explain the significant and life-long impact fathers have on their children. Once John came up with the name, he registered the domain. It's also the title of his movie, book, and non-profit.
